Hannah, DWS Class of 2010

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

Hannah was my very last session before leaving Albany (*sob).  We met out at Chehaw on a surprisingly cool-ish morning.  Cool-ish for Albany.  Meaning it was only 94 degrees at 9am as opposed to 110.

Hannah is a cross country runner and a drama queen. As in, she likes drama-related things and the arts. :) Enjoy your preview AND your senior year Hannah!

In keeping with my latest trend…I’ll start out with my favorite image from the session. :)

Sumner – DWS Class of 2011

Monday, July 26th, 2010

The day before I left Albany, I was welcomed out to some longtime favorite clients of mine to photograph Sumner’s senior portraits.  You may remember some of this scenery from when I did Sumner’s older sister Sarah’s portraits last year, but these photos were taken Sumner-style and she did a great job to make the same locale all her own. :)

I think I might make it a “thing” to start my blog posts out with one of my favorite images (i have 1-3 favorites of my own from every session).  For Sumner’s session, I had 2 favorites….here’s the first one. :)

Here’s a fun story about Sumner: She’s a supastar soccer player, and has decided that for her senior year she might make a pretty radtastical football kicker. Since the GISA rules state that girls can try out for any athletic team that is not offered for their gender, she’s been busting her butt all summer working on her field goal skillz so she can join the DWS football team in the fall.  The football scene in the south is hardcore and old school so I think she’s pretty awesome for challenging traditions and local ideas of how things “should” be.

The girl’s got moxie, I tell ya.  And I like that. :)

Brooke, Lee County Senior

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

I know the blog has been quiet lately, but that’s because we MOVED! In case you missed the memo, although I’m not sure how you could have. :)   Rabun Gap is gorgeous and fun and gorgeous and we love it here.  Did I mention that it’s gorgeous?  Already this week, we’ve been to 3 waterfalls, swam in 2 lakes, hiked mountain trails, been to the Gorge, shopped at local produce markets and I don’t even think we’ve scratched the surface.  One of these days I’ll take some pictures of our new home to show ya. :) But FIRST……Client Previews!

I think this might go down in the record books for my fastest senior session EVER.  Menacing clouds were rolling across the sky as I drove out to Lee Co. to meet with Brooke and her mom and boyfriend and I was biting my nails at the sky as we drove out to our shoot location.  Brooke and her mom jumped from their cars and ran inside scrambling into clothes and doing makeup touchups before hurrying back outside.  I think this session lasted about 20 minutes from start to finish, but we got it done WITHOUT getting wet so we were all happy.

Oh, except for the 27 bugbites on my legs.

That didn’t make me happy.

And I’m sure the 15 bug bites on Brooke’s shoulder didn’t make HER happy, but hey…great pictures come at great cost, right? :)

This first one is my favorite.  It’s probably not going to be very many OTHER people’s favorite, but it’s mine.  So I’m posting it first. Because it’s my blog. :)

Katie | DWS Class of 2011

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

After 2 weeks in Memphis, and a week in Ohio, we landed in Atlanta and then drove right back to Albany because I had a session on the books with the super cute Katie!  We met on a beautiful and uncharacteristically cool Albany evening to do her session.  Katie’s sweet spirit and easy laugh was such a great way to ease back into photo sessions. Thanks Katie for hanging out with me for a bit! Enjoy your preview! :)

Shannon, Deerfield Windsor Class of 2011

Sunday, June 20th, 2010

Last week I convinced Shannon to follow me out to the middle of nowhere for her senior session and she was such a good sport.  It was hot, it was sticky, we each got about 27 bug bites, I STILL have some scratches on my legs from tromping through some rough brush, and we finished up just before a nasty thunderstorm rolled in on us! You wouldn’t be able to tell all that from these photos – Shannon was beautiful and poised and she knocked it out of the park like a true Rockstar.

Just a reminder in case you missed the memo – Tammi Nowack Photography (and family) are MOVING so I am currently not accepting any more appointments unless you throw extremely large bundles of cash in my general direction.

HA! Kidding. :)

But seriously, we ARE moving and what’s left of my summer calendar is completely booked.  However, I WILL be coming back to town the weekend of Sept. 18 and the weekend of Thanksgiving and will be taking a limited number of appointments for that time, OR…. if you’re willing to drive up to our new home in Rabun Gap in late July or August, I’d be glad to do your photo session there in the gorgeous mountains of north Georgia.  Otherwise, feel free to call or email me for my recommendations for other area photographers that I know and trust.

Enjoy your preview Shannon!
