Welcome to the World | Albany GA Birth Photography
Sunday, October 18th, 2009I’ve been doing birth photography for several years now and it is one of my favorite life events to be a part of. When we moved to SW Georgia, I noticed that birth photography is not as common and when I’ve told people that I offer these services I’ve had more than a few raised eyebrows – “you photograph WHAT?” But I ask, Why WOULDN’T you want to photograph such a monumental day in your life? Your child only has one first moment, one first breath, one first cry.
Here’s what other parents have said about me photographing the birth of their baby:
———————————-
“Once it came time for the doctors and nurses to start working, Tammi faded into the background. I honestly don’t know how she got all the shots she did because I completely forgot she was there”
“When I approached my husband about having the birth photographed, his immediate thought was the cost (which is so like him). As we watched the DVD after, he cried (which is so unlike him) and said ‘it was so worth every penny’.”
“Tammi was very discrete and non-invasive during the birth. As I watched the DVD, I realized how many times i missed the fact that she took a picture because I was so unaware of her being in the room. And yet she captured all the beautiful moments that I will treasure – the tears in my husband’s eyes, the smile on my face as we saw our little girl for the first time, and the first kiss on her sweet head”
“I initially expected some pictures of the birth, but what she gave us told a beautiful story. She put together a “private” slideshow on the DVD, which was wonderfully graphic and absolutely beautiful but only appropriate to show to a select few. The “public” slideshow was amazing and so tastefully done that we have shared it with various people – family, friends, even teachers at my daughter’s school”
“Pregnant women get so much advice from others…and my advice to them is easy: Document it in pictures. You will never regret it”

Last Wednesday I had the beautiful opportunity of photographing the birth of Megan & Stuart’s first baby, sweet little Sofia. Being asked to be a part of something as intimate and life-changing as the birth of a baby is not a privilege I take lightly. I truly feel humbled, grateful, and honored to have been part of such a special day and to have been invited to take part in documenting a baby’s first breath in this world, a couple’s first breath as parents.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Megan and Stuart for letting me be a part of your special day and congratulations on the birth of your beautiful daughter.
