Another Fabulous Photography-Video Collaboration between Chris Fenner and Tammi Nowack Photography…a project partnership we fondly refer to as a “Fenwack Production”.

We met up with these 5 beautiful ladies on Sunday and had some fun capturing them hanging out..and just being girls. :) You might recognize a few of these girls…Stephanie, Sara, or Morgan from their previous senior sessions.

enjoy.

A Personal Video Compilation |Albany GA Photography/Videography

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

At the beginning of the summer, I bought an underwater housing for my camera so that I could take…well, underwater photos.  And I read the directions for the equipment, and then read them again. And again. And one more time for good measure.

And then I put my camera in the housing and dunked it into the pool. And had a mild heart attack.

But all was well, and the housing worked perfectly and we had a grand time over the summer playing with the cameras – taking hundreds upon hundreds of photos and videos of the family (mostly the boys) swimming and playing. My original intent was to offer this service to families who would want their OWN Photography/video compilation of their summer adventures in the pool or beach, but the learning curve for underwater photography was a little greater than I anticipated so I just decided to spend the summer practicing and learning the ins and outs on my own kiddos.

This was a big summer for my boys – both of them started off in May with swimmies on their arms and a general disdain for the deep end of the pool.  My oldest son especially would turn into a clawing spider monkey if you took him anywhere NEAR the deep end of the pool.  So we backed off, and we waited…and it’s incredible to me the amount of transformation that can take place in a child over just a few short months because by September they were both swimming alone, diving for dive sticks, and my oldest? the one who wouldn’t walk NEAR the deep end without floaties, an inner tube and his hand firmly grasped in mine?  He was doing cannonballs off the diving board.

Unfortunately, I didn’t start my working-relationship/video-photography EXPERIENCE collaboration with Fenner until just last month, so alas, the videos we took over the summer were done by me, my husband, and Casey’s inexperienced and water-logged hands.  I asked Fenner a few days ago if he would take the big mess and put it together in video format for me and he said yes (sucker!).  And then I imagine that his eyes widened and he shook his head in dread at the mess of disjointed and wobbly video clips that I sent to him. LOL :)   So please…understand that this video footage is NOT from him, but IS his editing work.  I’m amazed that he was able to assemble that mess into a video at all! :)

It’s not perfect, but it’s my boys and a documentation of their summer so I love it. :)

And since I frequently get requests for more personal things on this blog, I thought you might like to see it too. :)

An Exciting New Product: A Photography Experience

————————

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. To me, a picture is worth a thousand memories; for when all is said and done, it is the memories that last with us forever.~ Jeffrey A. Goodman

———————-

6 years ago, my first son was born.  And in that moment when that tiny infant was laid in my arms and I joined the ranks of those called “mothers”… I knew.  I knew that it would go by quickly. I knew that he would change and grow an indiscernible bit every day.  I knew that I wanted to remember as much as I could.

And in that first year my hobby, my passion, my camera- came full face with my everyday life.  And I photographed everything.  Every tiny soft fingernail, every expression, every milestone.  And when I look at those pictures now, I don’t just see a chubby baby face or a first Halloween costume.  I smell baby shampoo in his hair and I recall his wet kisses and I hear the leaves crunch under our feet as we went trick or treating and I smile when I remember the tinkling sound of his first laugh.

Photography is not only an image.  It’s a memory.  It’s an experience.

And THAT is what I strive for in my sessions.  To create an experience, to help you remember.  Your images are NOT about the frilly dress or the new shoes or the faces scrubbed clean.  They’re about dirty hands and giggling children.  They’re about a high school senior on the brink of new life experiences.  They’re about the first days of two people in love.  They’re about laughter…moments…experiences.

I’m pleased to team up with videographer Chris Fenner and offer my clients a new photography experience.  Not JUST a photo shoot….but a video-photography experience to help you remember every detail as vividly as it was yesterday. When you walk away from our session, we’ll guarantee you’ll be tired, happy, and smile at the memories of our time together.

Many thanks to the Dismukes family for driving to Albany and meeting the three of us last weekend for this shoot.  We ALL enjoyed meeting you and your beautiful family!

And to the Dismukes and everyone else out there: I hope you like it.
