Urban Jungle | A Fashion Shoot Part I

Saturday, April 24th, 2010

I have approximately 4,325,457 ideas for photo shoots in my head.  I think of them, jot some of them down, draw some of them out, think about themes, bounce ideas off Casey and occasionally….we execute one of them.  Casey is good to help me narrow down styling and vision.  Our conversations usually proceed something like this:

Me: I have this idea for a shoot.

Casey: yeah?

Me: Sort of….Lord of the Rings meets Sex & the City meets Avatar meets Robin Hood.

Casey: HUH?

We decided to split the shoot into two parts – so I’m splitting the blog post too.  We dubbed this shoot Urban Jungle, and it’s the first “fashion” type shoot I’ve ever done. Be gentle. :)

Many, MANY thanks to everyone who helped pull this together.  It was a fun day.  :)

Some Miscellany

Friday, March 19th, 2010

Hey everyone! I know the blog has been quiet lately and I apologize for that!  I’ve got some things in the Que for you that I just haven’t got up here yet. :)

I thought I’d throw out a few cool things on the beautiful Georgia Friday morning that might interest you.

1. My family loves Toms Shoes and I know that a LOT of my high school clients do too.  If you’ve never heard of Toms, they’re a GREAT organization that sells canvas shoes.  For every pair of shoes that YOU buy, Toms donates a pair to a child in need.  On April 8, TOMS is encouraging fans to participate in their One Day Without Shoes Campaign to help spread awareness about the impact a simple pair of shoes can have on a child’s life.  I thought this was such a FANTASTIC idea that I’ve decided to offer $25 off a session fee to anyone who participates in the One Day Without Shoes Campaign in our area.  AND….if you ORGANIZE a One Day Without Shoes Campaign at your school, office, or organization, I’ll give you a FREE photo session.  This goes for anyone – high school juniors or seniors, elementary age kids, adults, whoever.  You get your organization to participate in One Day Without Shoes and you get a free session. :)

The One Day Without Shoes website has a GREAT toolkit for organizers – downloadable forms, t shirt stencils, posters, letters you can send to your boss or administration of your school about what you’re doing, etc, etc.

So go check it out and start something cool where you live! And even if you DON’T live in Southwest Georgia, go check it out and do something where you live! :)

2.  I’m in need of a few MODELS for an upcoming springtime shoot.  You give me an hour or so of your time, and you get a free photoshoot and some prints. :)

I’m on the hunt for a fit, fun, energetic young mom and her daughter(s) between 4 and about 8 years of age.  Please send your contact info and a snapshot to info@tamminowackphotography.com

3. Still looking for some Senior Reps for the Class of 2011, so if you’re a highschool junior, or know of one you can read the details about that on this blog post here and request more info at: rockstars@tamminowackphotography.com

Be a Rockstar

4. Are you a fan on our Facebook page?  Facebook fans are typically the first to hear about model requests, updates, or get links to cool resources or photography tips.  Check us out and become a fan!

Have a great weekend everyone! :)

TJ & The Bridge Connection | Albany, GA Band Photography

Friday, November 6th, 2009

Last month I was contacted by TJ, who told me that he wanted some photos done of his musical/ministrial/performance group.  Through email he told me about his group and the things they do and the kind of people they are, and Casey and I finally got to meet all of them a couple weekends back.  TJ and The Bridge Connection are one supa fun, supa loud, supa talented group!  They kept us laughing, entertained us with some a capella tunes (showtunes? pop? gospel? they do it all!) and we had a fun time with them.

Thanks guys and enjoy your Sneak Peek!

We got some shots of everyone split into their groups.  I think these fine hotties were the 2nd sopranos…correct me if I’m wrong guys….

And the 1st sopranos…smokin’ it…

And the altos.

These are great kids! Leave ‘em some blog love!

Rebecca & Lucy | Albany, GA Pet Photography

Friday, September 25th, 2009

A few week back, Rebecca contacted me about doing some portraits with her and her 4 legged daughter Lucy.  I haven’t done very many portraits with pets, but I thought it sounded like a fun challenge so we arranged to meet downtown.  I was a little taken aback by young Lucy’s calm demeanor, seeing as how I’m accustomed to my own crazy Kujo-style black lab who jumps all over the place and acts the total spazz.  Lucy was nothing but a chilled out little lady and it was obvious how much she loved her “person” and how much her person loved her. :)

Dog Photography = FUN!

Hope you enjoy your Sneak Peek Rebecca and Lucy! :)

This one was of the first things I noticed about Lucy…her little butt sworls.   I thought they were so cute, so naturally I took a picture of them.  I’m sure the people in downtown Albany thought I was weird when I was laying on the sidewalk taking pictures of a dog’s butt. :) HA!
