At the beginning of last month, we went to the beach for our Spring Break. It was a much-needed time of R&R.  Our family is L.A.Z.Y. at the beach.  We spent our days in the sun – building sand castles, swimming and snorkeling, taking naps and reading.  Definitely my idea of the perfect vacation. :)

Last weekend was the Rabun Gap Nacoochee School annual Cirque performance.  What an incredibly talented group of kids.  This year’s production was Cirque Miwitu, an adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book.  It’s hard to believe that these talented performers are only in high school – and many of them are middle schoolers.  We enjoyed the production immensely.

There was prom a few weeks ago too….here’s a photo of my volleyball girls that I coach. They’re pretty special. :)

Also, did I mention that I was pregnant?

Baby boy #4 will be here in less than 6 weeks! Yikes!

I first met this lovely little family when I photographed the birth of their daughter Sophia 2 years ago, and have since photographed them a few more times since then (see here, or here, or here).  They are truly some of my most treasured clients and I am glad to count them as friends as well.  Even after not seeing them for several months, as I walked into Meagan’s birthing suite at the hospital we picked up right where we left off, laughing and joking (AFTER Meagan’s epidural, that is) until it was time to get down to biz-nass. :)
Stuart, Meagan — thank you again for allowing me to be a part of such a monumental moment in your lives. Congratulations on your beautiful daughter.

Meagan & Stuart decided to NOT find out the gender of their baby, so when it finally came time to push they were both so excited to find out whether they were having a son or a daughter.  Stu was so giddy with excitement he was literally rubbing his hands together in anticipation.

Lynette delivered both of Megan’s babies, and she was also my midwife during my last pregnancy in Albany and she is so absolutely fan-freaking-tastic!  There really is no better in all of  Albany.

Since no one knew the gender of the baby, M&S decided to keep the fun going and not share the names that they had picked out either.

After everyone was settled, the family came in with big sister Sophia to meet the baby.  Stuart gave Sophia a gift from the baby – he read the card aloud, which was signed at the end, “love, your little sister Cecelia”….who just so happens to be named after her grandma (Meagan’s momma).  She was so surprised. :)  Lots of family members, two nurses, and one photographer and there was not a dry eye in the room. Such a special moment….
