And then it was Winter. For just one Day. | Albany, GA

If you live in southwest Georgia, then you’re well aware that it SNOWED here today. And you’re also well aware of what a HUGE GIGANTOR FREAKING BIG DEAL IT WAS. Apparently there hasn’t been a snowfall here that’s STUCK since the early 70’s.

Since I’m from Michigan I had to chuckle at the mass freak0ut about schools closing and dangerous roads and just the general number of people who were ECSTATIC over the possibility of a mere dusting of snow. My friend Kim (a Georgia native) said that it blows her mind that people from up north just get used to snow falling from the sky.  It reminded me of what a wonder it really is.

The slush started dropping from the sky this morning and we all looked skeptically at the sky. Would it REALLY snow?  By 4pm there were billions upon billions of fat, wet snowflakes blanketing the ground and laying down a soft hush over the whole city.  And a teeny, tiny part of me missed the gentle fall of winter snow.

But I’ll be glad when it’s gone in 2 days.

Can’t get THAT in Michigan! :)
